Being one of the closest resorts to Denver, thus easing the gasoline pain at the pump, and having the ONLY alpine slide in the STATE!!! You’ve got to come to Winter Park this summer! Just a note that I have found out: Breckenridge will shut down its mountain this summer to make ‘base area improvement,’ according to the resort’s webs site. With that, Winter Park plans on opening on June 14th and they do try to plan different events every weekend – so plenty to do. And being the ONLY alpine slide open this summer isn’t all – Winter Park’s 3,000 foot long alpine slide is the longest in the STATE! Along with the alpine slide there are other activities to enjoy: human maze, bungee’s, gyro’s, mini gold and a climbing wall.
Spend the night at the lodge and enjoy a late check out on Sunday – check out at 4pm! Check out our affordable prices and enjoy a get-away from the city hustle & bustle.

The third weekend in August will be a fantastic event honoring our veterans and some good classic rock.  We are proud to sponsor the Salute to America’s Veterans Rally & Festival this year which honors veterans and servicemen & women on active duty is here for the second year in a row.  Last year, more than 10,000 guests attended the event. With Hawgest 2008, hosted at the Winter Park Resort the numbers should definitely increase.  Hawgfest is a musical event that features early ’70’s rock bands – tickets starting at $35 and up to $85 for a two day pass. The featured bands are: Cinderella, Warrant, Lynch Mob, Lynam, Ted Nugent, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and War.Â
Enjoying some ’70’s classic rock and reflecting on the Traveling Vietnam Wall – plus hearing the roar of Harley’s – what a memorable weekend.
For lodging options: we still have some hotel rooms left and condominiums as well.Â

Such a wonderfully beautiful road trip: taking Trail Ridge Road from the Rocky Mountain National Park to Estes Park. Officials are trying to have the road open for the Memorial Day Holiday. Crews are working to clear snowdrifts from about 25 feet deep on Trail Ridge Road above Gore Range Overlook. This road is America’s highest continuously paved highway which will bring you eye level with dramatic mountain peaks.  The trip starts in the valley then heads thru alpine tundra, crosses the continental divide and climbs above timberline. This experience comes with curves and switchbacks plus plenty of pull off places to take beautiful photographs.Â
When staying in Winter Park the trip is easily three to fours hours of gorgeous mountain vistas, peaks, valleys and wildlife!Â
May is it! Search & Rescue Awareness Month in Colorado — hence here are just a few basic but life saving tips for hiking & enjoying the backcountry with children. Children should always stay within sight & sound of an adult in charge- do not let the little ones walk off the trail alone. Remind them of natural hazards to stay away from: cliffs and moving water are examples. Also, prepare your children with a whistle and a garbage bag to carry with them.  And if separated, they should stay in one place – use the whistle to call for help and stay warm with the garbage bag.Â
After a beautiful hike in the rocky mountains – the adults would be ready for a relaxing dip in the hot tubs. Take advantage of the bubbling water after finishing a good hike here at the Beaver Village Lodge - and if you are camping in the rain, we have affordable hotel rooms to keep you dry!
We have enjoyed hosting Southwest Fellowship’s Men’s Retreat here at the Beaver Village. The 30 men enjoyed comfortable accommodations at the Beaver Village Condominiums and then went to work with lectures and networking at the Beaver Village Lodge. The group brought their own chef and I hear the meals were fantastic. The chef had full use of our kitchen and the meetings were held in the dining room that seats up to 120 people. While Winter Park was pretty quiet, the weather proved a bit challenging by bringing in several inches of snow right before arriving and checking into their units.
