The Winter Park Winery finishes bottling the last of it’s summer wines. The two growers who provide the winery’s grapes are from Mendocino, CA. and Palisade, CO. Three weeks ago he bottled a new Winter blend of cabernet and merlot. Winter Park Winery is known for it’s unfiltered, dry red and white wines. Tastings are $5 by the glass. The winery supports open mic night every Thursday at 8:30pm, year-round.
Winter Park Resort will host the Trestle Mountian Bike Festival this weekend featuring live music, bike demos, the Junior Downhill Gravity Camp, huge savings on gear at the Sidewalk Sale, and the Super Downhill Race. Saturday is an all day trail riding clinic for junior riders to enhance their skills. Sunday there are downhill races and all day access to Trestle Bike Park with registration. All these events are in celebration of the extended summer season.

The Fraser to Granby Trail is a multi-use, non-motorized trail open to the public. Hikers, mountain bikers, and walkers with their dogs are welcome to use it. The trail starts off County Road 5 at the Fraser spots complex and travels to Tabernash. A total of 3.5 miles have been added to the trail over the past two weeks. When completed, the trail will be 16 miles long. Â
The Grand Lake area has many summer happenings this month. The Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre presents “Why Do Fools Fall in Love?” at 8 pm for $25 in Grand Lake as well as a classic movie night on the dock on Grand Lake, the movie is “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” starting at 7pm and cost is $5. As the summer begins to cool down evenings are perfect for outdoor activities.
The Farmer’s Market First Friday Frenzies continue with DooWop Denny playing free live music 4 to 8pm during the Farmer’s Market 3 to 6pm. Other happenings in the Fraser Valley are, blues guitarist great Chris Duarte performing at 9pm at Smokin’ Moe’s in Cooper Creek Square tickets are $10 at the door in Winter Park tonight. Â
